Crime watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

Arrests

On Jan. 11 at 3:47 p.m., two 32-year-old Lynbrook residents were arrested and charged with criminal trespass and harassment after an altercation on Lyon Place.

At 5:06 p.m. on Jan. 11, a 52-year-old Commack man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration and various other vehicle traffic law violations on Denton Avenue.

A 24-year-old Cedarhurst man was arrested and charged with three counts of operated unlicensed operation, unregistered motor vehicle and various vehicle and traffic law violations on Peninsula Boulevard on Jan. 13 at 12:44 p.m.

On Jan. 13 at 5:46 p.m., a 56-year-old Seaford man was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, uninsured motor vehicle, various other vehicle and traffic law violations and an open Nassau County arrest warrant on Peninsula Boulevard.

At 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 14, a 38-year-old man from Jamaica, Queens, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm (a loaded 9mm pistol that was reported stolen in North Carolina), aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration and other vehicle and traffic law violations on Sunrise Highway.

A 39-year-old Elmont man was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to obey a traffic control device on Peninsula Boulevard on Jan. 14 at 9:05 p.m.

On Jan. 15 at 9:11 p.m., two 25-year-old Brooklyn residents were arrested and charged with grand larceny after an incident at Rite Aid, at 400 Sunrise Highway. Day was also charged with various vehicle and traffic law violations.

Larceny

A resident of Scranton Avenue reported on Jan. 12 that an unknown person removed her mailbox from the front of her house. The total loss was about $50, and Lynbrook detectives are investigating the incident.

Criminal mischief

At about 1:25 p.m. on Jan. 15, a resident reported that he parked his 2020 Range Rover in the parking lot of Trainland, at 293 Sunrise Highway, and upon return, he found the rear passenger window broken. There was also damage to the interior of the vehicle. The toal loss was about $3,000. Lynbrook detectives are investigating the incident.
