Crime watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

Arrests

On April 10 at 8:50 p.m., a 48-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested and charged with grand larceny of a motor vehicle, which was removed unlawfully from a driveway on Marshall Avenue on March 25.

At 3:35 p.m. on April 26, a 24-year-old Huntington Station man was arrested and charged with several open Suffolk County warrants.

A 26-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested and charged with petit larceny after leaving 7-Eleven, at 558 Merrick Road, with several items and refusing to pay for them. The total recovered items valued more than $265.

On May 1 at 2:30 a.m., a 29-year-old Freeport man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (drugs), obstructing traffic at an intersection and several other vehicle and traffic law violations.

Leaving the scene

At about 7:15 a.m. on April 16, an unknown car struck a light pole on Sunrise Highway and then left the scene. The driver did not make their identity known.

Grand larceny

A Watts Place resident reported that an unknown person stole his 2018 gray Jeep Wrangler from his driveway on April 28 at 5:30 a.m. The value of the car was about $38,000.

Larceny from  a vehicle

On April 28 at about 11:10 a.m., a Spencer Avenue resident reported that an unknown person stole his wallet from the center console of a vehicle parked in his driveway. The total loss was about $620.
