Incumbent trustees Emilio Grillo and Katie Conlon and village justice Mindy Roman, all running unopposed, were re-elected in Tuesday’s village election.
Grillo received 201 votes for his fifth term in office, Conlon received 190 votes for her second term and Roman received 186 votes for her first full term.
Grillo and Conlon have focused on public service, infrastructure and community engagement in their previous terms, emphasizing their commitment to preserving the village’s character while addressing ongoing challenges.
Grillo, a 26-year resident and practicing attorney, has a background in civic involvement, including roles as deputy village attorney and trustee since 2013. He has expanded recycling efforts, secured infrastructure funding and supported local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also highlighted his work with public safety departments and efforts to adapt to modern challenges such as increased traffic and social media influence.
"I am honored and humbled to have been re-elected by the residents of our great village, and I look forward to my continued service on behalf of our entire village community," Grillo said.
Conlon, who joined the board in 2021, has led initiatives related to road safety, cost-saving measures and civic engagement. As Public Works liaison, she has helped redirect a hazardous bus route and led forums on housing and development. She also supports historic preservation and has sponsored a resolution adopting an international definition of antisemitism. Additionally, she launched a military tribute project during her previous term.
"I would like to thank the residents of the Village of Rockville Centre for their continued trust," Conlon said. "The job of a village trustee is never done, and I am honored and eager to continue to work and serve our village for another term."
Appointed to the bench in November 2023 to fill the vacancy left by retiring Judge Kevin McDonough, Mindy Roman later won an uncontested special election in 2024 to complete the remainder of the term. Roman, a partner at Horing Welikson Rosen & Digrugilliers, previously served as the village prosecutor for more than 25 years.
