Police: Man reported missing in Elmont

A missing adult was reported in Elmont and is being investigated by the Missing Persons Squad of the Nassau County Police Department, police officials said.

Police were contacted by the wife of Gerald Giffith, who reported him missing on Oct. 7 at 6:45 p.m.

Detectives described Griffith as a 64-year-old Black male who is 6 feet tall and 150 lbs. with an average build and short grey hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue pants and blue and grey sketchers sneakers. His destination is unknown. 

Police officials request that anyone with information regarding Griffith contact the Nassau County Police Department Missing Persons Squad at (516) 573-7347 or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
