Fair 'Mitten Trees' provide help for those in need

Students and staff at John Lewis Childs School in Floral Park decorated two ‘Mitten Trees’ throughout December to help local residents in need.
Throughout December, the trees, located in the main lobby in the school, were decorated with newly-purchased gloves, scarves, hats and mittens. The items, the Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District said in a statement, were donated to the Hance Family Foundation and given to local families in need during the winter.
