School bus hits pedestrian in Hempstead

A man is in critical condition after being stuck by a school bus in Hempstead.

 The man, 24, was walking on Front Street near the intersection of North Franklin Street when a school bus traveling east on Front Street hit him on Feb. 6 at 6:38 a.m., according to Nassau police.

The man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said

The driver, 80, did not have any passengers in the bus and remained on the scene cooperating with police.

Police have yet to release the names of either the bus driver and the injured man.
