DRS in Woodmere virtually welcomes potential students

The dilemma for Davis Renov Stahler Yeshiva High School for Boys in Woodmere was how to host its annual open without being able to parents and students to the Ibsen Street building. Solution: Bring the building to them. 

Having prospective families log onto drsopenhouse.com, DRS offered a virtual open house to more than 170 potential students on Nov. 14. It began at 8 p.m. with a journey through a 3-D rendering of the DRS building.

The fully immersive virtual experience, used hundreds of 360° panoramic images offering viewers to visit the school’s beit medrash, gymnasium, classrooms, library, outdoor basketball court, science lab, and more. Throughout the tour, viewers accessed videos, photos and text to further educate and optimize the experience for prospective parents. 

On virtually the building, there were of Principal Rabbi Yisroel Kaminetsky, and general studies Principal, Dr. Hillel Broder who welcoming the visitor viewers and an opening video highlighting the DRS experience. More than 40 videos throughout the virtual tour had students, faculty members and parents speaking about various aspects of DRS, from the Judaic studies curriculum, rigorous general studies curriculum, many  extra-curricular offerings, extra learning opportunities and athletic and academic teams. 

After the virtual tour, parents and students were split into four Zoom rooms, where they heard from a rotating panel of presentations, including a parent panel and student panel. DRS parent representatives hand-delivered a 36 page, full color brochure, trivia game and cookies to all the pre-registered families on Nov. 12.
