Easter Egggggstravaganza was full of 'eggcitement' in Lawrence

Balloons, baskets and bunnies highlighted the fourth annual Egggggstravanza, a celebration of Easter at the Five Towns Community Center in Lawrence on April 3 that was more fun than a hatful of rabbits. 

Egg hunts for nut-free candy and treat filled eggs, including tickets for Wendy’s gift cards took place three times, twice on the Sadie E. Scott Recreation Field outside the Community Center and one in the playground. There were prizes and there was free items ranging from books to bunny slippers.

The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle of Long Island provided educational and historical material on the Buffalo Soldiers, African -Americans who were a part of the off the 9th, 10th, 24th, 25th, and Second 38th regiments  of the U.S. Army.   

Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic there was advanced registration, masks were required of all and the times were staggered as children came at 2 p.m. for 5- to 9-year-olds; 2:30 p.m. for 2-4; and 3 p.m. for 9 to 12.
