Nearly seven months after the original incident occurred, Nassau police arrested Luis Cedano, of Far Rockway, at the 100th Precinct in Queens on March 3.

On Aug. 14 at 2:30 a.m., Nassau police saw a blue Hyundai Sonata parked at Inwood Park many hours after the county park on Bayview Avenue closed. Police approached the car and said they saw Cedano, 30, of Cornaga Avenue, trying to hide a gun under the driver’s seat.

The police asked Cedano to get out of the vehicle. He refused and took off headed east on Bayview Avenue, allegedly committing several traffic violation, police said.

He is being charged with criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.

Cedano was arraigned at First District in Hempstead on March 4. His next court date is March 7. The Legal Aid Society of Nassau County is representing him.
