An Inwood man was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, which is known as Leandra’s Law, and other violations on July 20, according to police.

Officers from the 4th Precinct saw a gray 2011 Toyota failing to stay in the traffic lane that Wednesday night. The police stopped the car at 8:57 p.m., at the intersection of Broadway and Everit Avenue in Hewlett.

Police said they detected the odor of alcohol emanating from the driver, Bradley Alvarado-Gramajo. He also had blood shot watery eyes and was unsteady on his feet, police said, after conducting a standardized field sobriety test

Alvarado-Gramajo, 21, of Mott Avenue, was then arrested. He had a 9-year-old girl in the car at the time he was pulled over, triggering Leandra’s Law, a state law that makes a first offense of driving with a person 15 or younger a felony. The child was returned to her father.

Alvarado-Gramajo is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (Leandra’s Law), two counts of driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child.

Arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on July 21, he was issued a summons. As of press time, no future court date was available.
