Proposing marriage in Inwood Park

Posted

On one of the two benches outside the administration building in Inwood Park on July 23, Teaneck, New Jersey resident Jonah Ganchrov surprised Zahava Strock, of Far Rockaway, with a handmade sign that read: Zahava will you marry me?

As Strock, 21, walked around the building and saw Ganchrov, 23, with the sign, along with the rose petals on the ground, she blushed and said yes, along with “This is very cool,” referring to the sign that read We’re Getting Married on the reverse side.

Videotaped by Ganchrov’s good friend, Gabriel Khan, from Lawrence, it was then sent to the parents. Strock is a graduate of Torah Academy for Girls in Far Rockaway.

The couple plans to be married in Passaic, New Jersey on Oct. 24.
