The Alden Terrace School held a schoolwide virtual “Holiday Spectacular” celebration via Zoom on Dec. 21 to celebrate the holiday season.

Students in Pre-K through the sixth grade dressed in “festive attire,” which included light-up necklaces, headbands, hats and sweaters, and tuned in at 8:30 a.m. to view pre-recorded clips of each classroom performing holiday songs, Elmont Union Free School District said in a statement. The “Holiday Spectacular” also featured viewings of solo performances by students on the violin, piano and saxophone, as well as works of art during intermissions.

“The Holiday Spectacular allowed the students to safely celebrate the upcoming holidays with one another. Though distanced and in their own classrooms, the students were excited to watch their peers and themselves performing,” the school district said in a statement about the virtual holiday event.
