Lawrence native Howard Good, 91

He loved to play golf and tennis and was a strong supporter of law enforcement. Howard Good died on Dec. 6, 2021. He was 91.

Born in Manhattan on April 15, 1930, Good worked for several different Manhattan-based firms in what his wife, Maxine, said was “credit and corrections.”

Married in 1956, Howard and Maxine, had two sons, Steven and Jeffrey, who both predeceased their father. Steven died in 2020 at 62. Jeffrey died a year earlier at 58.

The Goods lived in Lawrence from 1960 to 1996. Maxine, whose maiden name is Brickner, had lived in the Five Towns community since 1947.

Howard played golf and tennis at what is now the Lawrence Yacht & Country Club. They were members of Temple Beth El in Cedarhurst.

Howard retired in 1990 and six years later the couple moved to Boynton Beach, Fla. Howard also played golf and tennis in the Sunshine State and was active with a group that supported the police.

“He was a loving husband and a devoted father,” Maxine said.

There was a graveside service in Boynton Beach on Dec. 8.
