Woman struck and killed by driver in F.S.

A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle around 1 a.m. today in Franklin Square.

The woman, 37,  was struck by a 2005 Silver Infiniti Sedan traveling southbound on Franklin Avenue. She was located by police at 407 Franklin Avenue and then transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead by hospital staff at 7:37 a.m.

The alleged driver, Marcial Pimentel, 20, of 1081 Woodclift Drive, Franklin Square, left the scene following the collision. He was later located and arrested by police, who said Pimentel was driving with a suspended license.

Pimentel has been charged with leaving the scene of an incident: death, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He is set to be arraigned today.
