During the Village of Freeport Board Meeting on April 3, 2023, Trustees Jorge A. Martinez and Christopher L. Squeri were sworn in for their new terms as Village Trustees. This comes after they were re-elected in the recent election held on March 21 in the Incorporated Village of Freeport.

The Board of Trustees met on March 22 to canvass the votes, with Martinez receiving 443 votes and Squeri receiving 403 votes, marking them both elected as Village Trustees for a four-year term expiring in April 2027.

“I’m just very grateful for the residents of the village of Freeport for giving me the opportunity to serve another four years and hopefully keep moving in the right direction and continue the work we’ve been doing,” Squeri said.

Martinez and Squeri had expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Village of Freeport for another four years and are committed to continuing their work towards the betterment of the village and its residents. The newly elected Trustees are expected to address various issues affecting the village and implement measures to improve the quality of life of the residents.

The Board of Trustees congratulates Martinez and Squeri on their victory and thanks all the voters who participated in the election and exercised their right to vote. The organizational night also saw the renewal of appointments, and the Board looks forward to working with the newly elected Trustees in fulfilling their responsibilities of overseeing the governance of the Village of Freeport.
