County executive: Eisenhower Park drive collects desperately needed medical supplies

On Tuesday, its first day, a medical supply drive undertaken by Nassau County collected boxfuls of desperately needed protective gear that will be given to first responders and hospital workers.

Supplies collected included:

• 74,000 gloves

• 3,300 surgical masks

• 355 gowns

• 131 face shields

"Keep it up, Nassau," County Executive Laura Curran tweeted on Wednesday.

The county will continue to collect medical supplies daily through April 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Field Three in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, Curran tweeted on Monday.

The supplies will be given to “our frontline first responders and health care workers,” Curran said.

Only unopened boxes will be accepted. Suggested donations include:

 • Masks

• Goggles

• Sanitizing wipes

• Hand sanitizer
