Four arrested in Baldwin robbery and kidnapping incident

Four individuals have been taken into custody after allegedly robbing a 24-year-old man in front of his home on School Drive in Baldwin on the evening of March 20th. The Nassau County Police Department has identified the suspects as Brian Gonzalez Valdez, 25, of Freeport, Waldi Victoriano Perez, 23, of Freeport, Edily Durancanela, 26, of West Hempstead, and Alexis Collado, 39, of Freeport.

According to detectives, the victim was approached by the suspects, whom he knew personally, while standing outside his residence. The suspects then forced the victim into their vehicle and drove off with him. While in the vehicle, they allegedly took the victim's cell phone and wallet at knifepoint. The victim expressed fear for his life during the ordeal.

The suspects released the victim at the intersection of North Main Street and Randall Avenue in Freeport, where he walked to the Freeport Police Station to report the incident. He suffered minor injuries during the robbery.

After conducting an extensive investigation, the Freeport Police Department located the four suspects at the corner of Guy Lombardo Avenue and Southside Avenue and arrested them without incident. Valdez has been charged with robbery, kidnapping, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, while Perez, Durancanela, and Collado have been charged with robbery and kidnapping.

All four suspects were arraigned on March 22nd at the First District Court at 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
