Island Park Board of Education honors Students of the Month — virtually

With the spring Board of Education meetings taking place digitally amid the Covid-19 pandemic, officials in Island Park Public Schools have maintained their tradition of honoring exemplary students and providing important community updates. Members of the board, administration, staff and public tuned in on April 21 for a virtual board meeting.

Francis X. Hegarty Elementary School Prinicipal Cynthia Cameron and Lincoln Orens Middle School Principal Dr. Bruce Hoffman announced the Students of the Month during the meeting.

Students who were recongnized included Jordan Ye (kindergarten), Tajana Skrine (first grade), Timothy Ayestas (second grade), Fallon Amorosa (third grade), John Fandaros (fourth grade), Mia Feil (fifth grade), Kaylee Molloy (sixth grade), Carlita Curtis (seventh grade) and Michelle Contreras (eighth grade). They were acknowledged for demonstrating positive character, dedication to learning and great leadership qualities.
