Island Park Chamber of Commerce launches #IPCARES initiative to aid local businesses

The Island Park Chamber of commerce has launched #IPCARES, a stimulus program where it will award about $3,000 in the form of $50 gift certificates and other grants to residents, which will be redeemable at more than 25 Island Park businesses.

The chamber’s board and officers created the program to help revitalize the business community as the county entered Phase 2 of the reopening process after many businesses were shut down amid the coronavirus.

“The program is funded entirely by the IPCC’s treasury and is only possible due to the overwhelming support the IPCC has received over the years from its members and its great community,” the chamber officers said in a statement.

To start the endeavor, the chamber is hosting a trivia contest on its Facebook page. The plan is to post different questions from June 15 to 19. Participants must live in Island Park to participate and win prizes and have to “like’ the chamber’s Facebook page, where a full list of contest rules will be posted.
