The Nassau County Police Department arrested two people on Oct. 29 and charged them with selling vaping products to minors.

According to an NCPD release, Shaffan Rangoonwala, 19, of Valley Stream, was arrested for selling vaping products to minors at the Zee Smoke Shop on Long Beach Road in Oceanside, and Tulsidas Patel Pareshkumar, 39, of Flushing, Queens, allegedly did the same at Lucky 7 Deli on Atlantic Avenue in East Rockaway.

Detectives from the Narcotics Vice Squad of the NCPD launched “Operation Vape Out” at various establishments known for selling vaping products in Nassau. The detectives sent underage patrons into various stores to attempt to purchase the age-restricted products, and Rangoonwala and Patel Pareshkumar were arrested for selling to them, according to police.

Police said Rangoonwala sold a JUUL box with four mint pods to a minor, while Patel Pareshkumar, a manager at the deli, sold the same item to another minor.

Rangoonwala and Patel Pareshkumar were charged with violations for sale of age-restricted products to minors in the Town of Hempstead. They are scheduled to appear in First District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 26.
