Long Beach voters pass $151.9 million school budget

The Long Beach public schools 2022-2023 budget was passed Tuesday, May 17. It was passed by a vote of 683 for yes and 315 for no.

Proposition two of the budget was also passed, which included expenditure from the Long-Range Building and Capital Improvement Fund and the 2018 Capital Improvement Fund. It was passed by a vote 733 to 248.

The budget was proposed and passed for $151.9 million, about $7 million higher than last year’s budget. The budget also carries a zero percent tax levy increase for residents for the third straight year.

School board incumbent Anne Conway was also elected for her seat. She ran unopposed.
