An 'egg-cellent' Easter event in East Rockaway

The Easter Bunny’s trail came through Rolling River Day Camp in East Rockaway on Saturday as more than 300 people attended a special holiday event there.

Families arrived in their best bunny attire for a fun-filled and safe outdoor event featuring an Easter egg hunt, Easter-themed relay races, decorative crafts, an extensive candy bar and had the opportunity to take photos with the Easter Bunny.  In order to adhere to social distancing guidelines and remain safe, the sold-out event was divided into three sessions and all tickets were reserved in advance. Mask wearing was also required.

“Our family is incredibly thankful for the impressive way Rolling River has opened their doors and made the holidays a fun experience for our kids and their friends,” attendee Leslie Matthews said. “They ensured that all safety guidelines were followed and everyone was safe while participating in a fun holiday tradition.”

Michelle Baxter, who owns Impressive Rentals, said she wanted to be involved with a local celebration and partnering with Rolling River enabled her to bring the excitement back to the Easter holiday this year.

“I wanted children to just be kids during such an uncertain time and this event truly put a smile on all of their faces again,” she said.

Rolling River has hosted many seasonal and holiday events since last fall and will continue to offer family-friendly and safe activities for the months to come.  The next event is “A Sweet Spring Treat,” featuring princesses Cinderella and Rapunzel on April 25.
