The cast and crew of West Hempstead Secondary School’s drama club put on three performances of the musical “Grease” in the West Hempstead auditorium on Mar. 13, 14 and 15.
The play is based on the 1971 musical that is set in the 1950s. The story follows high schooler’s Sandy and Danny Zuko as they fall in love but face challenges due to their contrasting personalities and social circles. The musical explores themes of love, friendship, and teen angst at Rydell High.
The cast of West Hempstead’s production entertained the crowd performing iconic hits like “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin’,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” and “You’re the One That I Want.”
