Get in the Easter spirit in Bellmore-Merrick

As Easter approaches, around Bellmore-Merrick there's lots of fun activities planned for children and families, including meet-and-greets with the Easter Bunny and of course, egg hunts. 

To kick off the weekend before Easter, which falls on April 9 this year, Salon Noveau in Bellmore is hosting an Easter Donut Truck Pop Up. Free to attend, the truck will be at 2576 Merrick Road, Bellmore at 4 p.m. And yes, even the Easter Bunny will be there for some photos. 

At the Bellmore Fire Department's headquarters on April 1, families will have another opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny, courtesy of Island Greenery. He'll be stationed at the corner of Bedford Avenue and Broadway in the Bellmore Village. For more, call (516) 679-1875. 

Later on April 1, Dylan's Dream Team Memorial Foundation, started in memory of Dylan Murphy, a young boy from Bellmore who died from complications of leukemia, is hosting its 8th annual Egg Hunt. The event, which inlcudes raffles and a craft fair, runs from 1 to 4 p.m. on April 1 at Forest City Park in Wantagh, located at 3099 Morgan Drive. And lastly, just before Easter on April 8, The Nesting Place in Merrick is hosting parent and me class with circle time, movement and crafts that will end with a visit from the Easter Bunny. Two seperate classes will run during the day, at 1:30 and 3 p.m. The class costs $40 and includes crafts and a juice box. The Nesting Place is at 2150 Merrick Ave., Merrick.
