Oceanside Kiwanis's summer gazebo readings return in-person

Posted

After a few changes last year because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Oceanside Kiwanis Club is returning to its regular summer gazebo readings this year for its 15th season.

Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs as the club will not be providing them and to note that safety protocols are still being followed, which includes masks for those who are not vaccinated and social distancing for all. The Kiwanis Club will have sanitizer and hand wipes available, and the microphone will be cleaned between each reader. Protocols may change as the summer goes along.

If there is bad weather, the events will not be canceled and the club will instead host them on the Zoom networking platform. In an email blast, Oceanside Library administrators said the Kiwanis's goal was to stream all readings on Zoom regardless of the weather, and to send a link to each session in its weekly email to subscribers.

There will be no refreshments provided, however attendees are permitted to bring their own.
