A volunteer crew from the Locust Valley American Legion Howard A. Van Wagner NY Post 962, consisting of members Bob Harrington, Mario Anzelone, Jay Goldstein and Luigi Tridico worked to rehang American flags on 80 poles throughout Locust Valley in time for Memorial Day.

The flags, which are in the heart of the hamlet, will be flying until after Veterans Day.

In early May another volunteer group of 12 post members gathered at the Locust Valley Cemetery and placed new American flags on veteran’s graves. Thanks to the efforts of the legion, Locust Valley is honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
