Residents say “yes” to the Locust Valley Central School District’s budget

Voters approved of the Locust Valley Central School District’s spending plan of roughly $90 million on Tuesday night, with 810 voting “yes,” and 514 voting “no.”

Proposition 2, for the utilization of $3.7 million from the capital reserve funds also passed. The funds will be used for facilities improvements, and a new turf field and track as well as the following other improvements: the installation of heating and air conditioning units in the Ann MacArthur and Bayville Primary schools, renovations of faculty restrooms at Locust Valley Intermediate School, and the addition of LED lighting in classrooms and drop ceilings at Bayville Intermediate.

Two incumbents ran in an uncontested race for two seats on the Board of Education. President Brian T. Nolan received 945 votes and George Vasiliou garnered 735 votes.  

The Locust Valley Library budget passed with 412 residents voting in favor and 163 against.
