Rockville Centre’s Odd Fellows Lodge 279 held its Second Annual Charity Cornhole Tournament on June 11 at Fireman’s Field. Some of the proceeds from the tournament went to local organizations the Rockville Centre Breast Cancer Coalition and the Backyard Players.

“The real theme of this event is community,” Noble Grand Ryan Kelly said. “From the donation of the field by the fire department, the local sponsors, the local charities, and the people participating, it is a full community event that we hope to see grow each year.”

30 teams in the tournament with 40 businesses contributing the event, including craft beer from South Shore Brewery, Bright Eye Brewing, Barrier Brewery, and Spider Bite Brewing. The competitors braved a summer shower, but they and the 120 other attendees would not let it ruin their day.
