Riverside celebrates 100 years

On June 14th (Flag Day) the entire school community came together to honor this milestone beginning with a ceremony in the gymnasium. Mayor Murray and Deputy Mayor Baxley presented the school with a Proclamation and a Commemorative Flag was raised outside as a culmination to the celebration!

Riverside families, staff, students, special guests, local legislators, central office administration and our Board of Education were in attendance for this very special moment in time while the entire Riverside Student Body sang “You’re A Grand Old Flag” and the South Side High School String Quintet played commemorative Flag Day music.

“We are honored to turn 100 and look forward to many more years of excellence in education to come!” Principal Erik Walter said.
