Queens man arrested for alleged menacing in North Lawrence

Nassau County police arrested a Queens man for allegedly menacing another man in the parking lot of the Verizon store at 369 Rockaway Turnpike in North Lawrence at 5:20 p.n. on May 1.

Fourth Precinct officers responded to a report of disturbance and a person with a weapon, police said. Douglas Beale, 52, of Beach 40th Street, was driving and at the intersection of the Nassau Expressway and Bay Boulevard allegedly became involved in argument with another man, 50, who was also driving and had a woman, 27, in his vehicle, according to police.

Beale allegedly displayed a handgun and the other man called the police. Beale was arrested and no injuries were reported. He is charged with two counts of second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Beale will be arraigned in Mineola on May 2.
