Kindergartners get greater access to books

Posted

Seaford Manor Elementary School kindergartners have a new way to satisfy their thirst for knowledge – the Seaford Public Library. The youngsters are officially cardholders at their local library and can now go in to check out books.

Kindergartners participated in a virtual meeting with children’s librarians Jacqueline Lopez, Sabrina Krug and Kristina Fuessler on March 10. Watching from the SmartBoard in their classrooms, students learned about the different services available to them with their new library cards. The library staff also put on a show for them with skits, songs and read alouds.

At the end of the program, teachers Katie Haug, Susan Henle and Dawn Plotnick handed out the library cards to their students.
