The Levittown Community Council marked Earth Day with a community-wide cleanup on April 27 at Veterans Memorial Park.
Volunteers of all ages gathered with rakes, shovels and garbage bags in hand to clear debris and beautify the area. The event, which was sponsored by the council with support from the Town of Hempstead, aimed to promote environmental awareness and community pride, while encouraging residents to take an active role in keeping Levittown clean.
