Celebrate Woodstock

Our Generation will be singing songs from the 1960s and 1970s to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock at the Elmont Memorial Library on Aug. 23 at 12:30 p.m.

Restore hope

Rescuing Families, Inc. will be holding its second annual Restoring Hope Barbecue on Aug. 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the VFW Post 2718, 68 Lincoln Rd. in Franklin Square. The barbecue will include a performance by Gary the Great, raffles, karaoke and lawn games. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under and can be purchased by visiting Facebook or by calling (516) 697-9403.

Make your own constellation

Children in grades 5 - 8 can make their own constellation using paint and lights at the Franklin Square Public Library on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. There is a $2 fee for materials, which is to be paid at the time of registration.
