Crime watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

Arrests

 

On Jan. 2 at 10:25 a.m., a 22-year-old Uniondale man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and uninspected vehicle on Peninsula Boulevard.   

At 3:25 p.m. on Jan. 8 a 26-year-old man from Jamaica, Queens was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operator, failure to stop for a school bus, operating without insurance and inadequate mirrors on Merrick Road.   

 A 49-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, failure to signal and unlicensed operator on Peninsula Boulevard on Jan. 9 at 7:50 p.m.

On Jan. 9 at 8:15 p.m., a 28-year-old Valley Stream woman was arrested and charged with assault after an incident at White Castle, 490 Sunrise Highway, on Jan. 1 at 4:20 a.m.    

At 8:20 p.m. on Jan. 9, a 22-year-old Hempstead man was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation, aggravated unlicensed operator and failure to signal on Peninsula Boulevard.   

 

Robbery

 

A deliveryman from New Hong Kong restaurant reported on Dec. 30 at 4 p.m. that he attempted to deliver an order to a home on Catalpa Avenue when a man, about 5-foot-9 and in his early 20s wearing dark clothing, approached him. The unidentified man struck him in the face and then kicked him several times after he fell to the ground. He then stole $30 in cash from the deliveryman and $35 worth of food and ran in an unknown direction. Nassau County detectives are investigating the incident.

 

Burglary

 

The owner of Steel Steps Inc., 51 North Prospect Ave., reported on Jan. 10 at 4 p.m. that the glass door to his business was shattered and several items were stolen. Items taken included an iPhone, iPad, a motorcycle seat and ignition key and several items of men’s clothing. The total stolen was about $2,600, and the damage to the door cost about $50.
