Crime watch: Rockville Centre

Arrests

On Sept. 27 at 10:45 a.m., a Bay Shore man was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after being stopped for speeding on Sunrise Highway. Lebarron had 16 suspensions on his license and an outstanding bench warrant from Nassau County First District Court.

At 2:48 p.m. on Sept. 30, a Rockville Centre man , was arrested at the Long Island Rail Road station on Front Street after officers stopped him, knowing he had an active bench warrant from Nassau County First District Court. In addition to the warrant, he was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On Oct. 7 at 4:17 p.m., a Rockville Centre man was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal contempt after he violated an order of protection during a disturbance at his residence.

Assault

A Rockville Centre resident reported that her boyfriend struck her in the face with a bottle, then grabbed her throat and threw her to the ground before leaving the scene on Sept. 28 at 5:20 p.m. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, and police are seeking her boyfriend.

Graffiti

On Sept. 29 at 4:28 p.m., a passerby reported graffiti found on the mailbox at the corner of Milburn Street and Fonda Road.

Larceny

At 12:53 p.m. on Sept. 30, a landscaper working on Raymond Street reported that someone removed two leaf blowers and a trimmer from his truck.

A Rockville Centre resident reported that his bicycle was stolen from the bike rack on Front Street on Oct. 1 at 5:25 p.m.

On Oct. 5 at 11:01 p.m., a motorist reported that three iPhones were stolen from her car while it was parked in a lot near Sunrise Highway.

At 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 6, a homeowner on Hampton Court reported that two wallets and his cell phone were stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in his driveway overnight.

The manager of a store on Sunrise Highway reported that three iPhones were stolen from the business on Oct. 6 at 7:46 p.m.

At 1:20 p.m. on Oct. 8, the manager of a store on Merrick Road reported that two cases of liquor were stolen.

Leaving the scene

On Sept. 28 at 11:10 a.m., a motorist reported that her vehicle was struck by another car while driving on Merrick Road, and the operator of the second vehicle reportedly yelled at the driver before leaving the scene.

At 3:02 p.m. on Sept. 29, two motorists reported that their vehicles were struck by a third vehicle at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Oceanside Road. The third car then left the scene.

A motorcyclist reported that he was struck by a vehicle and suffered a left wrist injury on Oct. 3 at 12:45 p.m. The car then left the scene.

Narcotics

On Sept. 28 at 12:27 p.m., a member of the Rockville Centre Police Department disposed of about 24 pounds of household pharmaceuticals from the drug take-back box in the lobby of police headquarters.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle

At 9:57 a.m. on Sept. 27, the manager of a Maple Avenue business reported that a rented pickup truck had not yet been returned to the business after more than two weeks.
