Unusual incident

On Dec. 7 at 6:39 p.m., a Woods Avenue resident reported that someone made unauthorized purchases on her credit card.

At 5:09 p.m. on Dec. 18, a resident reported that she was the victim of a gift card scam via email.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle

At 9:04 a.m. on Dec. 8, the manager of U-Haul reported that two vehicles were not returned after the rental period ended.

Property damage

A Whitehall Road resident reported someone damaged the front bumper of her vehicle while it was parked in front of her home on Dec. 10 at 3:05 p.m.

On Dec. 15 at 3:49 p.m., a village employee reported damage to a village-owned fence on Maine Avenue.

At 10:43 a.m. on Dec. 16, a Verizon employee reported that he accidentally dropped a tool onto the windshield of a vehicle while working on overhead phone lines on State Street.

A motorist reported that he struck a village-owned street sign on N. Village Avenue on Dec. 16 at 12:27 p.m.

On Dec. 18 at 3:01 p.m., a motorist reported that she found scratches on her vehicle while it was parked in a N. Centre Avenue parking lot.

Harassment

On Dec. 6 at 6:51 p.m., a Merrick Road resident reported that he had a dispute with his neighbor.

Leaving the scene

At 2:33 p.m. on Dec. 8, a motorist reported that her car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while driving on N. Oceanside Road.

The operator of a vehicle reported that her car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while driving on Sunrise Highway on Dec. 10 at 6:07 p.m.

On Dec. 11 at 2:25 p.m., a motorist reported that her car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while driving on N. Long Beach Road.

At 11:15 a.m. on Nov. 19, a driver reported that her car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while parking in a Merrick Road parking lot.

Narcotics destruction

At 10:11 a.m. on Dec. 8, the Police Department disposed of 31 pounds of pharmaceuticals from its drug take-back box.

Larceny

A motorist reported on Dec. 14 at 1:54 a.m. that someone stole his vehicle while it was parked in the 7-Eleven parking lot on Randall Avenue. The car was unlocked and running with the keys inside when it was stolen. Police located the vehicle in Newark, N.J. on Dec. 15.

On Dec. 14 at 9:29 a.m., a Hempstead Avenue resident reported that someone stole her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway.

Graffiti

The manager of a N. Park Avenue restaurant reported finding graffiti on the building on Dec. 18 at 3:21 p.m.
