Fire engulfs Inwood home

A half dozen first-responder emergency units responded to an early morning fire that engulfed a  home on Monroe Street in Inwood on March 8, according to Nassau police.

Fourth Precinct officers and Inwood Fire Department firefighters helped to get all four residents out of the burning house around 3:15 a.m. No one was reported injured, police said.

“Companies were on the scene for approximately two hours,” Inwood fore officials posted on Facebook.

The Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Long Beach, Meadowmere Park and Woodmere fire departments also responded to the scene. Atlantic Beach Rescue, Lynbrook and Valley Steam provided coverage for the responding units.    

Officials said the fire was deemed non-suspicious at this time.
