Juniors and seniors from Freeport High School were recognized for their determination and academic excellence throughout the school year during the school’s annual Academic Awards Breakfast.

During the breakfast celebration, awards and scholarships were given to students who demonstrated academic excellence, achievement, community service, leadership and educational growth in a variety of areas including science, social science, American History and more.

“This is a great day to celebrate,” said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kishore Kuncham as he addressed the award recipients. “Thank you for being who you are. Your ability to overcome and face challenges and obstacles, all the life lessons you have learned, have created your path for success and you’re going to make a difference in this wonderful world.”

The awards were provided by New York State, Nassau County, and the Town of Hempstead. In addition, many universities, organizations, and institutes offered awards including the Rochester Institute of Technology, St. Michael’s College and the University of Rochester.

The district is proud of its students and congratulates them for their accomplishments.
