A 15-year-old from Freeport was charged with the attempted murder of two Nassau County Police Officers when he lunged at them with a knife on May 5.

County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said the incident happened in the backyard of a home on Eddy Road, in Roosevelt. Police were at the scene after a local couple called 911 about teen throwing a brick at their house and car.

Police said the teen attacked one of the officers, and as they grappled on the ground, the second officer attempted to disarm the teen, who used the knife to cut the officer’s middle finger.

The officers used a taser to finally subdue him.
