Freeport’s first fun and frosty frolic

Posted

The Freeport Memorial Library held a Winter Wonderland celebration on Dec. 30 for children of all ages. The library was decorated in its finest winter white décor of snowmen and giant cutouts of Disney’s Frozen characters that included Ana and Elsa.

Outside of the library, a video gaming van held video game tournaments and gaming for some of the older kids. But inside the library, the younger children were seen making snowmen at an arts and craft table in the children’s room.

On the second floor, there were a number of game booths, a snow cone and pretzel station, face painting and event a hen petting section featuring hens from Long Island Pony Parties.

“They’re having so much fun,” Yoanna Bernhardt said as her five-year-old daughter, Zoe Baez got her face painted with holiday emojis by Kuddles the Clown.

Bernhardt said she often takes her daughters to the library for a variety of activities and delighted they get to hang out with other children their age outside of school.

Freeport grandfather, Asgharmo Motamedi said he brought his granddaughter Sufiya Motamedi, 8, to spend some quality time.

The event also featured carnival games that children could play for prizes.
