Hempstead Town extends 'Jurassic Quest' run through Oct. 18

By popular demand, Long Island’s only drive-through dinosaur exhibit, “Jurassic Quest,” has extended its stay at Town Park Point Lookout and will now host shows through Oct. 18.

The program was originally to run through Oct. 11.

“Families and people of all ages have expressed their excitement for 'Jurassic Quest' right here in America’s largest township,” Supervisor Donald Clavin said. “These life-like dinosaurs are unlike anything you will experience here on Long Island, and we’re thrilled to host this educational and entertaining exhibit. What’s more, this program is a win for families who are seeking safe and socially distant entertainment options during the pandemic.”

The show features more than 70 life-like dinosaurs, including the tyrannosaurus rex, spinosaurus and triceratops. The show is taking place in the parking lot of Town Park, 1300 Lido Blvd. in Point Lookout.

Tickets are available for a fixed price of $49 per car on the "Jurassic Quest" website at https://JurassicQuest.com. Tickets have been selling fast, town officials say. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Each tour is estimated to be an hour long, and will feature actors and actresses along with the animatronic dinosaurs. The show is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

"Jurassic Quest" is part of a series of fun entertainment options for Hempstead Town residents during the Covid-19 Road to Recovery.
