Voters turned out across Nassau County to decide critical races that will shape leadership and policy at every level — from county executive to local offices.
The race for Nassau County Executive featured incumbent Republican Bruce Blakeman against Democrat Seth Koslow. After a campaign focused on public safety, fiscal responsibility and economic development, Blakeman declared victory.
"I want to thank the men and women of Nassau County for giving us all your trust," Blakeman said. "If not for the people of Nassau County coming out the way they did, we wouldn't have had the tremendous result we had tonight."
For Nassau County Comptroller, Republican Elaine Phillips sought re-election against Democrat Wayne Wink Jr. Phillips won this race according to unofficial results.
The County Clerk’s position saw Republican Maureen O’Connell face Democrat Joylette Williams in a competitive contest. With responsibilities spanning property records and vital documents, O’Connell declared victory in this race.
In the race for Nassau County District Attorney, Republican incumbent Anne Donnelly and Democrat Nicole Aloise contested a seat crucial to the county’s justice system. The winner declaring victory was Donnelly.
The Town of Hempstead’s top local races drew significant attention. For Town Supervisor, Republican John Ferretti, who was appointed earlier this year, ran against Democrat Joseph Scianablo. Ferretti declared victory.
"Our position on the issues that face Hempstead residents, Nassau County residents — we're on the right side of every one of them," Ferretti told Herald reporters Tuesday night.
The Town Clerk race featured longtime public official Republican Kate Murray facing Democrat Yveline Dalmacy. The race was won by Murray, according to unofficial results.
Valley Stream’s representation in the Nassau County Legislature was also decided in multiple districts. In District 14, Republican Sheharyar Ali and Democrat Cynthia Núñez. The winner was Nuñez, according to unofficial results. In District 7, incumbent Republican Howard Kopel ran against Democrat Alec Fischthal, with Kopel declaring victory. In District 3, Democratic incumbent Carrie Solages faced Republican Kadeem Brown, with Solages declaring victory.
