The Long Beach Historical Society is the epicenter of the city’s past. Documents, photos, artifacts and more are there to teach residents about where they live.
The society has continued this, teaching and welcoming in the younger generations of the Long Beach community.
With the collaboration of the volunteers at the historical society, all fourth-grade students were given the opportunity to visit the local living museum last week. It was an opportunity for the students to get a hands-on lesson that coincides with their social studies lessons. It also gives them a local civic understanding and sense of ownership to the community in which they belong.
