Lynbrook firefighters extinguish early morning car fire

Members of the Lynbrook Fire Department fought and extinguished a car fire on April 26.

Under the command of Third Deputy Chief John Donald, the department reported to the fire, at Merrick Road and Wilbur Street, after receiving a call at 6:15 a.m. After arriving to the scene and realizing the fire was near a commercial building, Donald updated the call to a general alarm.

Flames wrecked the car, but the firefighters eventually extinguished the blaze and no injuries were reported.
