Pedestrian injured in Elmont auto accident

A 72-year-old male pedestrian is now in critical but stable condition, after he was struck by an automobile in Elmont on Aug. 19.

According to Nassau County police, the victim was attempting to cross Linden Boulevard at 239th Street at around 9 p.m. when he was struck by a 2017 Mercedes Benz that was traveling eastbound on the street. As a result, he suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver remained on the scene.

An investigation into this accident is still ongoing.
