Police arrest duo in connection to murder of Freeport youth

Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Squad arrested two men on April 25 in connection to the death of a 19-year-old Freeport resident, whose body was found in Cow Meadow Park last month.

Detectives took Manuel Aparicio, 22, of Hempstead, and Edgardo Caballero, 18, of Far Rockaway, into custody as they continue to investigate the death of Daniel Garcia-Carbajal, whose body was found with gunshot wounds at Cow Meadow Park on March 4.

Aparicio was charged with murder and conspiracy. Caballero was charged with conspiracy. Both men were arraigned on April 26.

Detectives previously arrested Tulio Ayala, 42, on April 13, in connection with the murder. He was charged with murder and conspiracy.
