Rescue operations underway for submerged car at Theodore Roosevelt Park and Marina in Oyster Bay

Nassau County police are investigating a fatal incident after a vehicle was driven into the water Thursday morning at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay. Authorities responded to reports of the submerged car at approximately 8:15 a.m.

According to Nassau County fire officials, one person has been confirmed dead, prompting a recovery operation by police at the scene.

Details regarding the identity of the driver, any possible passengers as well as the cause of the incident have not yet been released.
