Second noose found in Hewlett, $30,000 reward being offered

For the second time in the past three months, a noose, a symbol of hatred and racism, was found at the work site shared by National Grid and PSEG Long Island at 455 Mill Road in Hewlett. The noose was discovered on Nov. 22. One was also found in September.

With the incident being considered a bias crime, Nassau County police are investigating and PSEG Long Island and the police are offering a combined $30,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

PSEG is offering the $25,000, while the $5,000 comes from Nassau County Crime Stoppers. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 244-8477 or the police at (516) 573-2925. All calls are confidential.
