Town of Hempstead offers free drive-in movies

Beginning Friday, Dec. 4 and through the month the Town of Hempstead is providing free drive-in movies featuring holiday and winter classics for the whole family.

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, attendees must remain in their vehicles for the duration of their stay. If you need to use the restroom, you must wear a mask. Visitors are being asked to exercise patience and understanding, as town employees will be explaining rules and regulations and taking additional precautions pertaining to Covid-19.

All movies will be shown at Town Park Point Lookout at 1300 Lido Blvd. in  Point Lookout, and are open to town residents only on a first-come, first-served basis. The schedule of movies is as follows:

Friday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. – “It’s a Wonderful Life” 

Saturday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. – “Polar Express”

Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. – “An American Tail”

Friday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. – “Elf”

Saturday, Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. – “The Preacher’s Wife”

Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. – “D2: The Mighty Ducks”

Friday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. – “Almost Christmas”

Saturday, Dec. 19 at 5 p.m. – “The Grinch”

Sunday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. – “Frozen 2”
