North’s Girls Varsity Volleyball wins big

The Nassau County Volleyball Association honored the accomplishments of the Girls Varsity Volleyball Team from Valley Stream North High School after a spectacular season. The five post-season honorees are Junior Kayla Santo and Senior Alessandra Llubit who won All-County Honors; Junior Isabella Matura who earned All-County Honorable Mention; Senior Haley Nelson who earned All-County Honorable Mention and was also named one of Nassau County’s Top 50 volleyball players; and Senior Karen Ye who earned an All-Conference title and is the team’s Scholar Athlete award recipient. 
The team played a winning run in this year’s season, highlighted by tremendous displays of athleticism. The team led by Captains Madelyn Dusel, Alessandra Llubit, Haley Nelson and Karen Ye won the Nassau County A3 Conference Championship title with an overall record of 12-1.
“I am so proud of this team’s dedication and commitment,” said Mary Parisi, Girls Varsity Volleyball coach, who was also named Conference A3 Coach of the Year for the second year in a row. “These young women are role models for their peers. I am honored to be their coach.” 
“I am incredibly proud of the Girls Varsity Volleyball Team,” said Dr. Robin Small, Interim Principal of Valley Stream North High School. “Their accomplishments this year are the result of hard work, dedication, and a passion for volleyball. Thank you to Coach Mary Parisi for guiding the team to victory.”
